We are thrilled that a local care home has chosen Age UK Solihull as its charity partner for 2023.
The team at Care UK's Blossomfield Grange Care Home, off Dog Kennel Lane, is aiming to raise over £1,000 for us in 2023, which is our 40th anniversary year.
The home is on track to reach its fundraising target, as they have already raised a total of £351 through a chocolate raffle, donations from one of their residents’ 100th birthday, and most recently, a Quiz Night.
The quiz took place on Wednesday 22 March at Blossomfield Grange. Hosted by friend of Age UK Solihull, Fred Farren, the quiz was attended by 28 guests including the home’s staff, residents and their families, and some of Age UK Solihull’s own volunteers. Ticket sales, a raffle and donations towards refreshments helped to raise a total of £181, bringing the home’s fundraising total to over £350 which will help us provide our services for older and vulnerable people in Solihull.

After the success of their first Quiz Night, Blossomfield Grange plans to host more events to help reach their £1,000 target.
Jo Hopkins, Director of Community Relations at Blossomfield Grange, says, “I am so grateful to everyone that supported our first Quiz Night. We were delighted with the amount raised on the night and are looking forward to our next one helping us to get closer to our fundraising target for this wonderful cause.”
Rebecca Jacob, Digital Marketing and Fundraising Manager at Age UK Solihull, adds, “We are thrilled to partner with Blossomfield Grange for 2023. As a local charity, the support of the Solihull community means so much to us and helps us to continue to be here for older and vulnerable Solihull residents who need us.
“Thank you to Jo and the rest of the team for the funds raised so far. We had great fun at the Quiz Night and we can’t wait for the next event.”
