Age UK provide information and advice for older lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT+) people to help you understand your rights and how to deal with discrimination.
Advice for LGBTQIA older adults
Age UK have also produced an information guide to help older LGBT+ people navigate some of the issues of later life. The guide is called AgeUKIG02: LGBT+ and you can download it for free, from the Age UK site.

SAND (Safe Ageing No Discrimination)
SAND is a community organisation whose goal is to improve the experiences and increase the expectations of LGBT+ people as they age in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. SAND visualises a future where lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin are fully integrated into the community; a community that values their experiences, meets their needs and offers appropriate personalised care as they age.
Reach
Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin works with SAND to offer a telephone befriending service called Reach, which offers older LGBT+ people a regular confidential phone call with a friendly trained volunteer.

Shropshire Senior Rainbow Friends
Shropshire Senior Rainbow Friends is a vibrant friendly group for LGBT+ people over 50 years of age who live, work and play in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and the Borders. They meet monthly at Palmer‛s of Shrewsbury and provide a safe and comfortable space for older LGBT+ people, underpinned by a social network and mutual support.
