Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin's food and friendship groups are a great place to meet new people over a bite to eat.

A group of people socialising at a lunch club

Throughout Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, people who are over 50 are meeting together in their communities to enjoy each other's company and good food. Each of our groups meets at least once a month, usually at the same local venue to enjoy some food for a reduced price. No membership is required but all lunches must be pre-booked, and cancelled if you are unable to attend.

No group near you?

We are always keen to work with a community to help set up a new food and friendship group where a suitable local, or nearby, venue exists.

If you think this is a good idea and would like to help us to set one up in your community, please call us on 01743 233 123.

How to join

If you'd like more information about our food and friendship groups, call us on 01743 233 123. Then, to pre-book your place at a group, contact the group's co-ordinator one week in advance of the next meeting.

If you are going along on your own, it is a good idea to let the co-ordinator know so that they can welcome you when you arrive. They can also help you to settle in and introduce you to some people during your first meeting, if you would like them to.
