Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin is delighted to announce the launch of a new Men's Breakfast Club in Shrewsbury, building on the success of its popular group at Toby Carvery in Telford.

The new group will provide a welcoming space for older men to socialise, enjoy a hearty breakfast, and connect with others in their community.

The Shrewsbury Men's Breakfast Club will take place on the first Monday of every month from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm at The Red Lion on Battlefield Road, with the first meeting scheduled for Monday 7 April 2025.

The success of the Telford Men's Breakfast Club has demonstrated the positive impact of bringing people together over a meal, fostering friendships, and creating a sense of belonging.

Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: "We know that social opportunities like these can make a real difference to the wellbeing of older men in our communities. The Telford Men's Breakfast Club is home to nearly 40 members, and we're thrilled to now offer the same opportunity in Shrewsbury. We encourage you to come along, enjoy a good breakfast, and meet new people in a friendly and relaxed setting."

The group is open to men aged 50 and over, and there is no need to book in advance, just turn up and enjoy good company and conversation.
