Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin invite you to an afternoon of Christmas carols and a festive carvery lunch, hosted at the Toby Carvery Telford.
One of our singing groups for people aged 50 and over, the Acorn Singers, has spent weeks rehearsing and preparing to sing their favourite carols to raise funds for the local charity.
The event will take place at the Toby Carvery Telford, Shawbirch Cross Roads on Wednesday 11 December, between 12.00-1.00pm. It offers a chance to celebrate the season while also supporting vital services for older people facing loneliness and isolation in our community.
The Toby Carvery Telford is the home of our very popular Men’s Breakfast Club, and the team decided to make Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin their charity of the year and raise funds to support older people in their community.
‘The lovely staff at the Toby Carvery have completely embraced our Telford Men’s Breakfast Club, something we at Age UK Shropshire Telford and Wrekin set up six months ago,’ said Claire Fishlock, one of the charity’s Service Development Officers.
‘Having welcomed the highly successful breakfast club with open arms, the Toby Carvery would now like to offer support to the other groups we organise too by showcasing them to all. The choir will be there to entertain all at the venue but also to shine a light on the great work done by Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, helping and supporting older people right across our county.’
