Stars and Dolls fundraising success

The Maeflower Dance group staged a series of spectacular shows before Christmas, to raise funds to support local older people.
‘The ladies of the Maeflower Dance group did such an amazing job,’ said Claire Fishlock, Service Development Officer at Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin. ‘We honestly can’t thank them enough. They’ve been brilliant! The show they put together was really great and we are hugely grateful that they raised money for our charity.’
The dance group raised almost £300 with their pre-Christmas show, staged at a number of venues around Shrewsbury.
Dance instructor Philippa Price said: ‘It was a witty and lively dance show called Santa’s Stars and Dolls and was full of beautiful dancing, colourful costumes, magical music and plenty of seasonal sparkle! And we were keen to raise funds for Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.’
‘Maeflower Dance group aims to create and perform dance, rather than just meeting up for a dance class,’ explained Philippa who also runs Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s adult ballet group.
