It was a runaway success for solicitors’ firm Wace Morgan when they joined a Shrewsbury road race and raised more than £1,600 for local charity Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.

The solicitors, with offices in Shrewsbury, Newtown, Telford and Bishop’s Castle, not only sponsored the recent Shrewsbury 10k road race, but also took part in it.

‘Everyone had a great time with about 25 staff, friends and family taking part in the event,’ said Louise Ridgway, Human Resources Officer at the firm. ‘It was a lot of fun with lots of spectators coming along to cheer everyone on.’

Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: ‘We are thrilled and full of appreciation that Wace Morgan chose to support us in this way. The funding will help secure our services that do so much to support our older people right across the county, so a great big thank you to everyone at Wace Morgan.’

Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin runs a wide range of services for older people including help at home, dementia support respite sessions, wellbeing and activity groups, befriending, digital inclusion, and information and advice on benefits, power of attorney, and advocacy.
