Oswestry charity shop closes

The Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin charity furniture shop on Smithfield Street in Oswestry will be closing on Friday 30 October 2020.
It is with regret that our trustees made the decision to close our charity furniture shop in Oswestry, which has experienced a downturn in sales due to the pandemic.
The profits generated from the sale of second hand furniture over the past four years helped fund charitable services for older people in the county, such as our information and advice service, which last year generated over £3 million in benefits for local older people.
Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: ‘In the four years we have been running our shop in Oswestry these past seven months have been the most challenging. It is with a heavy heart that we made the decision to close our furniture shop in Oswestry, the staff and volunteers have worked so hard and I want to thank them for their dedication over the years, we could not have done it without them.’
Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin will continue to run our charity furniture shop in Walker Street, Wellington. You can contact the Shop Manager Paula Hinks on 01952 872 020.
