After a successful interim position, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Teresa Barker as the new Chief Executive for the charity.
Teresa was the Board’s unanimous choice, after serving in an interim role for four months. She has led the provision of older people’s services at the charity for ten years, most recently in Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer roles. Under Teresa’s leadership, the charity’s impact in promoting older people’s independence and wellbeing has grown significantly, and Age UK Sheffield has become a leading provider of community dementia services.
Age UK Sheffield Chair, David Campbell, said: “We are delighted that Teresa has accepted this role, which is just reward for her hard work leadership in recent months, and for many years before that. The Board has worked closely with Teresa in that time and know the charity is in safe hands, with a strong values base.”
New Chief Executive, Teresa Barker, said: “I am pleased to have been appointed to this position. I am committed to our work supporting older people in Sheffield to fulfil their aspirations, and look forward to leading Age UK Sheffield to the next stage in its development.”
