Veterans' Foundation - Thank You for Your Support
Published on 26 January 2024 01:07 PM
At Age UK Sheffield, we are delighted to have received a grant from the Veterans Foundation. This support will enable us to continue our valuable Independent Living Co-ordination (ILC) work.
Our experienced ILCs provide a holistic package of support to older people and their families – from supporting customers with claiming benefit entitlements, helping with adaptations for the home and connecting customers up to local social activities.
Supporting Sheffield:
We are keen to make sure these services also serve our veteran community – and so this grant will enable us to fund such valuable work that we know already makes an impact for older people in Sheffield.
More to come!
Our team are also planning some social events in Sheffield to bring communities together in 2024 – so watch this space.

The Veterans’ Foundation has
‘Been set up to help fund charities and other charitable organisations that are helping serving and former members of the Armed Forces, and their dependants, who are in need. The Veterans' Foundation raises its money through the Veterans’ Lottery and donations. Since inception in July 2016, it has given over £14 million through almost 750 grants to over 370 unique organisations, many of them small to medium-sized and very worthwhile charities, which are helping members of the Armed Forces community who are in need. We are grateful for the public’s support of the Veterans’ Foundation and its Veterans’ Lottery, and we encourage you to spread the word.” - Major General David Shaw, founder of The Veterans' Foundation.
