The members of the dementia support service Buddy Clubs recently attended the launch of the So Many Beauties Project at the Bridgewater Hall which featured the (world) premiere of new music that they have been part of creating.
Mary Ann Byrne, Age UK Salford Dementia Support Manager said: “it was a fabulous day of joy, laughter, music and singing. The people we support living with dementia and our dedicated team had the best day. So, uplifting.”
Holly Marland, So Many Beauties Project Director said: “A huge thank you for making the launch such a vibrant and positive start to our joint So Many Beauties dementia friendly festival project. Age UK Salford Buddy Club did themselves proud with their new music, and big thanks to the charity Create for supporting this part of the project.”
So Many Beauties work creatively with health and social care communities to compose music to showcase at public events. They believe in the power of music and creativity to bring people together to change lives. The project is supported by Arts Council England and will be working with people living with dementia to create new music.
We are delighted to be joining this new project and contributing to a culturally diverse dementia-friendly music festival next year.
