Age UK Salford 50 Anniversary Conference

Published on 13 December 2024 10:22 AM

Age UK Salford celebrated its 50th Anniversary from November 2023 until November 2024.

We filled the year with plenty of memorable moments including working with a designer to produce a mural for the window in the Eccles office. It’s still going strong, if you’re passing the office in Eccles.

There were parties at Critchley Community Hub in Swinton, Humphrey Booth Day Centre and the Dementia Café and Buddy Clubs run by Age UK Salford. We also fundraised throughout the year, raising an incredible amount.

We rounded-off the celebrations with a Conference at Eccles Town Hall with staff, trustees and volunteers. We were also joined by guests from partner organisations and longstanding supporters of Age UK Salford.

Maureen Jolley, Chair of the Age UK Salford Board of Trustees said: “Thank you to everyone who has given up their valuable time to help make this anniversary year one to remember. To those who have fundraised for us – thank you for raising fabulous amounts for our charity, and which will go to help supporting older people in Salford. We are now ready to focus on the next 50 years. We will continue to challenge the stereotypes of ageing and celebrate positive ageing.”
