Age UK Salford shook up the traditional approach to Dementia Awareness Week bringing families, friends, dementia carers and services together to celebrate at The Good Life Festival.
Over 200 people got involved in the event held at The Watersport Centre, Salford Quays.
16 boats competed in a boat race raising £1,400, there were a range of games, craft stalls including Mrs Bead, sand crafts and face painting for the kids, a ‘Big Bad Raffle’ (with prizes donated from local organisations). Morrisons Eccles provided a taster stall and local food suppliers included Wiltshire Farm Foods, Carrs Pasties and a pancake stall.
It was a fun, family event whilst remembering dementia affects everyone and didn’t feel like an event for dementia awareness.
