Age UK Salford Swinton and Irwell Valley History Group Trip

The Age UK Salford Swinton and Irwell Valley History Group recently visited one of Salford’s iconic buildings - Salford Lad’s Club. The club in Ordsall was established in 1903 as a purpose built club for boys. The group also had the pleasure of meeting Archie Swift MBE, one of the longest serving members during their visit.
The lively and friendly group meet one Saturday / month at 10.00am at Critchley Community Hub in Swinton. The group are interested in local history and heritage and cover Irwell Valley, Swinton and Pendlebury. They have a programme of interesting speakers and organise trips to local places of interest. The group also take an active part in the Heritage Health Walks which take place every two weeks on a Wednesday morning.
