An Evening of Song and Smiles
Friends in Harmony are to hold a concert in aid of Age UK Rotherham. The event will take place at St Francis Church Bramley on Saturday 26 April at 7pm and will be a showcase of popular songs from musicals, classical favourites and pop music meaning there’s something for everyone.
Friends in Harmony are a local choir based in Rotherham and they've been putting their musical talent to good use to raise money for charities and local organisations for over a decade.
The choir is under the leadership of Musical Director Graham Cowley who has many years of experience with choral groups and musical theatre and he, along with accompanist, Catherine Sarjeant, who is also well experienced with musical groups, are set to put on a fabulous show.
The concert is one of many activities that will mark the 40th anniversary of Age UK Rotherham and will help to raise much need funds. One of the charity’s trustees, Katrina Cleary, who recently joined the choir said “It’s a wonderful thing to be part of a choir. Singing lifts your spirits and the spirit of others and it’s great that we can do this and raise money for such a good cause at the same time.”
With around 60 members the choir is a friendly and sociable group that meets to rehearse every Tuesday at St Francis Church Bramley. They are open to new recruits, no audition needed, you just need to enjoy singing and be able to hold a tune. You can find out more by emailing friendsinharmony@virginmedia.com
