A giant cheque for £2,235 was presented to Lesley Dabell (Age UK Rotherham’s, Chief Executive) by Ray Matthews (Race Ambassador) and Steve Gaines (Race Director) as a result of the Rotherham 10k and Fun Run 2019.
The Rotherham 10k took place on a beautiful Spring day back in May. Blue skies and sunshine lifted the spirits of runners for the second Rotherham 10k. Crowds cheered as runners weaved their way through Rotherham Town, and out towards Centenary Way, running up Doncaster Gate and back into Clifton Park. There was a one mile Fun Run for schools and those people wishing to take smaller steps to help improve their fitness, health and wellbeing. A park village fete feel, live radio and awards for the runners added to the entertainment factor and a great day out for the local community.
Lesley Dabell congratulated the organisers on a job well done and thanked everyone who had taken part, volunteered, and supported the event. A special thank you was given to Clair Barker who not only volunteered at the event but also took part in the Rotherham 10k, raising £570 for Age UK Rotherham.
