Masquerading the night away for charity

This year’s Charity Night Masquerade Ball raised over £3,000 to support older people in Rotherham.
A welcome reception kicked off the themed event at the Carlton Park Hotel and the ‘Venice Revisited’ art show provided a perfectly themed backdrop.
Guests were invited to masquerade the night away with an evening of fine art, dining and entertainment.
Madam Mayor, Cllr Eve Rose Keenan and Consort Pat Keenan together with Ray Matthews (Age UK Rotherham Ambassador) and Trustees were amongst the guests on the evening.
Elliott Walker, a local pianist, played a medley of Gershwin music at the welcome reception. Derek Maddison hosted and provided entertainment throughout the night.
Julie Benson, Fundraising Development Officer, said, ‘This year’s annual fundraiser coincided with Rotherham's older people’s month and a chance for reflection on the issues facing older people.
'The event was made possible with the kind and generous support of local sponsors John Box Associates, MEARS and Allotts Chartered Accountants. It was simply lovely to see people of all ages mingle together, to celebrate and enjoy later life with a love of the masquerade ball.’
We'd like to say a big 'thank you' to the people and businesses who donated gifts for our auction and raffle. Auction prizes were kindly gifted by Turveys, Ye Olde Bell Hotel and Restaurant and Mears.
All proceeds help to support our work with older people in Rotherham.
