Everyone has a story - Here are the winning stories!
We were thrilled by the response to our Winter Writing Challenge – Everyone has a story. So many memories beautifully told covering war times, births, childhood, school days, a proposal, workplaces, encounters with idols, car (mis) adventures, wins, ponies and much more besides.
Our Chair of Trustees, Charlotte Cornish, has made her choice. She was torn so chose two! The joint winners are:
Vera Bosher from Twickenham for her charming and cheeky childhood memory (read her story here) and Ian Giles from Teddington who wrote a very entertaining read about a “Close Encounter" with a Hollywood Star. Well done to Vera and Ian!
The CEO's choice award goes to Jill Taylor with her 'Wartime recollections' story. We have also decided to include a Sponsor's choice award to Patricia Bennett for her wonderful 'Tracks' story.
Thank you to everyone who shared a precious memory with us, remember all entrants will get their name in a hat for the chance to win one of our raffle prizes.
Your memories made for truly riveting reading. So much so that, after gaining permissions from writers, we will be publishing the stories in a book. All entrants will receive a free copy of course!
