Tai Chi for Health and Wellbeing
We are delighted to be able to offer older people an exercise opportunity thanks to our tai chi trainer, John Poon, who runs a Tai Chi for Health and Wellbeing class at the Ilford Library on a Monday morning at 10.00am. Spaces are very limited so if you are interested in taking part in our face to face class, please contact: amber.mirza@ageukrbh.org.uk.
John also runs an online Tai Chi class on a Thursday 11am-11.45am. If you are interested in taking part in an on line class, please contact Disdiamonds@ageukrbh.org.uk
Participants will learn traditional & authentic Tai Chi Chuan:
- Chi Kung (energy work) is the practice of working on developing and strengthening the flow of energy (chi) within the body's system to enhance health and wellbeing.
- Moving Chi Kung warm up exercises.
- Using the concept and principles of Tai Chi.
- Using the intention "Yi" and projection to enhance the Chi flow.
- Thorough look at Tai Chi Exercises and the impact on your health and balance ie Stress, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes etc.
- Breathing exercises.
D`o-In is a set of physical exercises designed to aid in developing and maintaining overall health and wellbeing.
