Nail Cutting Technician

We are recruiting a Nail Cutting Technician to work at our two clinics. This role requires the technician to work independently to provide toenail cutting and simple enhancements, such as filing of callus (dry, hard skin). The successful candidate will ideally have relevant qualifications/training related to the service, however training will be provided. They will also ensure accurate records of clients are kept and promote good foot health by giving advice to help keep feet in a healthy condition.

Salary: £14 per hour
Working Hours: 7 hours per week
Contracted Hours: Zero hour’s contract
Closing Date: Monday 29th July 2024 by 12pm
Interview Date: Week commencing 5th August 2024
Base Location: Ilford & Wanstead (with a possibility of a new clinic opening in Havering late 2024)

Wanstead Activity Centre Cook

Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering offers an activity centre to residents of Redbridge aged 55 or above, to use for exercise and craft among other classes, and to enjoy light refreshments and a daily, 2 course, freshly prepared lunch.

A part time cook is required to provide lunches (main course and dessert) and work alongside a small team to include; two other part time cooks and approximately 12 volunteers. The centre is overseen by an onsite manager who will look after the day to day running of the centre, and who line manages the cooks and volunteers.

Salary: £13.15 per hour
Working Hours: Part Time 8 hours per week on a zero hours’ contract
Days Required: Mondays and Fridays - 10am – 2pm. An ability to cover additional hours for annual leave or other absence would be preferable.

Dementia Adviser

Age UK Redbridge, Barking and Havering offers a Dementia Advice Service providing high quality information, advice, guidance and support to people with dementia and their Carers throughout their journey living with dementia with a particular focus on moderate to late stages.

We are currently recruiting a Dementia Adviser in Redbridge to work in partnership with the London Borough of Redbridge and other Redbridge Dementia Partners. You will have an understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers either through professional or personal experience. You will have a key role in supporting people with dementia at various stages and encouraging people concerned about their memory to seek advice and assist them to access appropriate support to maintain their independence, enhance life choices and plan for the future.

Salary: £25,821
Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

Volunteer Co-Ordinator Befriending Service – Redbridge

Age UK Redbridge, Barking and Havering are seeking to recruit a Volunteer Befriending Co-Ordinator to work with existing Befriending Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator to provide a Befriending Service (Forget –Me-Not) for older Redbridge residents to reduce isolation. This will involve supporting all aspects of volunteer recruitment and management as well as carrying out risk assessment for residents and matching volunteers to service users for home visits and/or telephone befriending.

The role includes recruitment, training, support and management of Befriending Volunteers, assessment of older residents requiring the service and matching volunteers with them. The post holder will also be responsible for case recording, monitoring and service evaluation.

Salary: £25,351 per annum for 35 hrs/week or £20,281 for 28hrs week
Working Hours: 28 hours per week to 35hrs per week
Duration: 12 Months
Closing Date: Monday, 1st July

Home Support Workers Needed

High quality Home Support Workers are required to work in older people’s own homes across the 3 boroughs of Redbridge, Havering and Barking/Dagenham. Work for a fantastic charity organisation to make a difference in older people’s lives.

Home Support Workers help older people to live independently, safely and happily at home by assisting them with a variety of practical tasks such as shopping, cleaning, cooking and running errands. Home Support Workers also provide companionship and accompany clients to appointments or take them on outings. There is no personal care involved. Travel time will be paid. Core training provided. Subject to DBS check.

Salary: £10.63 per hour + travel pay at hourly rate between clients if applicable
Hours: Zero Hour Contract
