Where to go for a blood test

Published on 15 June 2020 01:03 PM

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust have produced a useful chart which shows where you can go currently to get a blood test. A number of usual blood testing locations have been closed to reduce payient footfall, support social isolation and optimise NHS resources. The updated list can be downloaded below.

From Friday 21 August, NELFT will be relocating its blood testing service from the Victoria Centre in Romford to the Long Term Conditions Centre, RM3 0AR (near to Harold Wood Polyclinic).

Appointments are available at an additional 3 clinics in Redbridge from 21st September. These will be at:

  • South Woodford Health Centre
  • Hainault Health Centre
  • Seven Kings Health Centre

Appointments are now available at Thames View Health Centre in Barking

If your GP tells you that you need a blood test, you must book an appointment in advance to ensure that infection control and social distancing guidelines can be followed.

In light of the COVID-19 virus, we have taken steps to protect the public and our patients and staff:

  • There are currently no walk-in services available – all blood tests must be booked in advance.
  • A number of the usual blood testing locations have also been closed to reduce patient footfall, support social distancing and optimise our resources.
  • For children under 12, blood tests will only be carried out on the advice of a consultant paediatrician.
  • Always take your paper blood test form to your appointment as this is needed to process your blood test.
