Di's Diamonds

A celebration event was held for Age UK Redbridge, Barking and Haverings Di's Diamonds service, followed by our AGM at the Queens Theatre in Hornchurch on 7th February.

A crowd of over 60 people attended, including Staff, Trustees, and Commissioning Officers from London Borough of Havering.  Following an introduction to the afternoon by James Monger (Associate Director), Kim Crisp (Co Ordinator) and Cheryl Brownson (Co ordinator) they were entertained by singer Mandy Lyes who encouraged people on to the floor for a dance or two before tea and cake. A second session of song and dance followed, prior to a Health and Wellbeing talk given by Viki Bainsfair from the Havering YMCA. This was followed by the Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering Annual General Meeting.

We would like to express our thanks to the Queens Theatre for providing the space for the celebration and the AGM, as well as providing the refreshments. We would also like to thank the Commissioners from Havering who came along. They were: Sue Shepherd who is the Commissioning Officer for Di's Diamonds; Sandy Foskett the Monitoring Officer; Kim Smith the Community Development officer; Jenny Gray Commissioning for Dementia Services and Sue Anderson, Dementia Action Alliance Co ordinator. We greatly appreciate their support for the service and are delighted that LB Havering has given us this new contract. We are also grateful to Lesley Davey, Community Champion at Tesco Roneo Corner for her support of the project. Below are some photos from the event.
