Six Age UK Portsmouth employees and volunteers were invited to Winchester to accept the High Sheriff of Hampshire Community Award. The Hampshire High Sheriff Community Awards are a mark of distinction and recognition given to public servants, individual volunteers or community groups based in Hampshire, who are making a significant contribution to their communities.
Earlier in the same week Age UK Portsmouth was invited to an Essential Workers Recognition event hosted by The Right Worshipful, the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Councillor Frank Jonas BEM at Portsmouth Guildhall. The event was created to honour the essential and volunteer workers of Portsmouth to recognise the contribution made during the covid pandemic 2020-2022. At the event Age UK Portsmouth were awarded the Freedom of The City of Portsmouth.
