What was the Bereavement Support Project?
Our Bereavement Support Project delivered holistic, one-on-one advice sessions to older people who had recently experienced or were expecting to experience a bereavement.
Bereavement causes a range of complex emotions and changes in personal circumstances. Our research has shown that, in many instances, the Coronavirus pandemic worsened the effect a bereavement has. As we rebuild from the pandemic, the need for specialist bereavement support for older people has never been so urgent. Our skilled advisors provided practical support to help people cope with their grief, help them feel less alone and get the most out of their later life.

The Bereavement Support Project was delivered by four local Age UKs across England, running from August 2022 to July 2024.
