National dementia services
There are a number of national organisations that can provide help and support regarding dementia.
Age UK
Age UK provides a range of information and advice on health conditions, including dementia, on their website.
Age UK also produces a number of guides and information booklets, a list of which can be found in our dementia resources section.
Dementia Friends
Dementia Friends awareness sessions are free one hour sessions which anyone can attend. The sessions cover key points about dementia and explain how small actions can help make a difference for someone with dementia. They are delivered by Dementia Friends Champions, who have attended a free 1 day training session – this training is open to everyone. The Oldham Dementia Friends Champions network provides support, updates, resources and information.
