It's just not fun eating a meal alone. Our lunch clubs let older people socialise, join in a variety of activities and eat a healthy, home-cooked meal.

The aim of Age UK Oldham's Enhanced Lunch Club service is to combat social isolation by providing the opportunity for older people to meet and make new friends and join in a variety of activities .

The Enhanced Lunch Club model enables people who require a little assistance to access this service as carers are available to offer support. A healthy, home-cooked 3 course meal with their peers is provided as it’s just not fun eating a meal alone. The meal is just one part of the lunchtime experience, we also organise optional activities for attendees, such as quizzes, bingo, gentle exercise and singing, as well as parties at Christmas and other special occasions. All for just £5.20!

Our weekly Brunch Club is a wonderful way for people to get together, have a chat and meet new friends - all over unlimited cuppas and a breakfast sandwich - every Tuesday 10:00am until 12pm at King William IV, Chew Valley Road, Greenfield OL3 7DD.

If you are of a more competitive nature or just enjoy a good game, we also run a Friendship Club. It is a friendly and welcoming group held at Chadderton Over 60’s Centre every Thursday from 12:00pm - 3:00pm for a light lunch, quizzes, prize bingo and raffle. We also run a Friendship Club in Shaw every Wednesday from 12.30pm - 3.00pm. This takes place at The Gables, Kershaw St., Shaw, OL2 7AJ.
