Regardless of whether you are new to crafting or have been crafting for a lifetime, our craft club encourages older people to get involved and get crafty!

For many older people, crafting has been a pastime they have enjoyed for most of their lives. For others, they discovered the enjoyment and rewards of crafting in their retirement years.

The importance of arts and crafts activities for older people extends far beyond the creation of an object.

  • Making crafts brings people together. It helps with a sense of belonging and develops new friendships.
  • Many older people who live alone find making crafts an enjoyable way to pass the time
  • Crafting helps to keep minds sharp and stimulated.
  • Working with crafts that involve using hands, for example molding with clay or knitting, helps to exercise fingers and hands
  • Working on crafts reduces depression in some people

Experienced crafters love to share their own personal crafting skills with others and those new to crafting can enjoy learning something new too.
Making new friends and sharing a light lunch during the session makes the sessions an enjoyable few hours.

£3.50 per session including lunch.
