Support our Men in Sheds by donating your unwanted tools, equipment, timber and refreshments*

We are always in need of good quality wood-working tools, equipment and timber for Men in Sheds - our ground-breaking project that supports older men who want to get together, share and learn new skills all in the welcoming setting of a workshop. More importantly, this project also supports older men who are isolated or disengaged from their community or are experiencing major changes in life.

So if you, or a family member, have timber that is of no use to you in your own shed or garages, or you've replaced your old tools and equipment with new ones, don't just throw them away! We can put your donated items into good use to make creative works of art, ornaments and small furniture. All products made by our shed members are sold to raise vital funds to help sustain the project.

What we can use

  • Good quality wood-working tools e.g. screwdriver, saw, chisel
  • Woodworking consumables e.g. sandpaper, nails and screws
  • High quality electrical equipment e.g. rechargeable drill, drill bits
  • Good quality timber e.g. offcuts, plywood, pallet wood (good quality pallets)
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits are always welcome at the sheds. The social side to Men in Sheds is just as important as the wood working element, and our members and volunteers are partial to a biscuit or two…*fig rolls are definitely a favourite!

What we can't use

  • MDF or Chipboard
  • Rotten timber or timber with woodworm

Please note: we have limited capacity to collect. Contact us to find out where you can donate.
