This festive season, we’re bringing you 12 stories of Christmas. These stories tell of the amazing things that the Age UK Notts staff, volunteers, funders, and you have done to support older people across Notts & Nottinghamshire this year.
Story 1: A Busy Year
We’ve highlighted some of the tree-mendous things that happened here at Age UK Notts over the last few months, It certainly was a busy year! Hold on to your Christmas hats, here's a snapshot of what happened:
- It’s our 80th birthday this year and Morrisons helped us celebrate with tea parties at our Men in Sheds venues in Blidworth, Daybrook and Worksop, and the Conifers and Mulberry Court residents and staff enjoyed their parties, too
- There was a great turnout at our birthday walk and tea party organised by our Best Foot Forward team at Wollaton Park raising a fabulous £118 donated by the walkers. (872 individual Best Foot Forward Walks have taken place this year)
- Thanks also to the Nottingham Knights for their much-valued support as they enjoyed a day out & raised funds for us
- Our Connect Team have brought in a phenomenal £237,000 of confirmed benefits in this financial year – great job!
- 4 of our Connect Team have been awarded Trusted Assessor status for small adaptations –and we’re launching our assessment service soon – well done to all our new Assessors.
Phew! We think that Father Christmas would be impressed with that. Of course, we couldn't do all this wonderful work without our amazing team of volunteers.
