Coinciding with the end of the Second World War, 2025 also marks the 80th Anniversary of the inception of Age UK Norwich. Forming on the 27 April 1945 when a group of like minded people got together, marking the first meeting of the Norwich Older People's Welfare Committee, Age UK Norwich has been an active park of Late Life in Norwich over the last 8 decades.
"We are incredibly proud to reach this 80-year mark," says Dan Skipper, Chief Executive of Age UK Norwich. "For eight decades, we have been dedicated to improving the quality of later life in Norwich, ensuring they have the support they need to live independently and with dignity."
Throughout this milestone year, Age UK Norwich will be hosting a variety of special events and activities to celebrate its rich history and express gratitude to the community for their unwavering support.
An ambitious goal has been set of raising £80,000 to ensure continued support for older people in Norwich. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on the charity's services.
