The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Dementia Fayre will be returning to the East Atrium and Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 21 May 2025 between 10am and 4pm.
The event is open to all staff, patients and carers to provide advice and support to people and families affected by dementia.
Liz Yaxley, NNUH Dementia Services Manager, said: “The Dementia Fayre is one of our highlights of the calendar year because of the level of support we receive from the local dementia support community and we see how valued the event is for our patients, carers and families affected by dementia.”
“The aim has always been to provide as much information and support to people living with dementia in a caring and supportive environment - we are looking forward to welcoming a host of experts and organisations to the hospital on the day.”
This year’s event will be attended by the prevention team from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service who complete home fire safety visits for vulnerable and elderly residents. We will also be joined by Norfolk Police, Age UK Norfolk, Age UK Norwich, Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Admiral Nurses, Alzheimer’s Society, Adult Social Services, Trading Standards, the NNUH Dementia Support team and local dementia support groups on the day.
There will be a panel discussion about keeping safe and well between 10.30am and midday in the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre and another session about planning for the future between 12.30pm and 2pm.
Prof Michael Hornberger, Professor of Applied Dementia Research at the University of East Anglia, will deliver a talk on latest in disease modifying drugs and research on driving between 2.15pm and 3.15pm.
