2nd of May saw our second Age UK Norwich Corporate Golf Day and what a success the day was. 17 teams joined us at Wensum Valley Golf Club for a beautiful spring day of golf and games to raise money for our services.
The day was packed full of opportunities to have fun, with beat the pro, heads and tails, a putting competition, as well as impressive cars on display from Inchcape Norwich BMW. Refreshments were also provided along the course by Katherine’s Kitchen, finishing off the day with a two-course meal, prize giving and a much-anticipated auction.
William Armstrong, our patron gave a speech at the start of the day, with Jeremy Goss wrapping up the event, both highlighting the importance of the money raised at the event, why our work matters to those over 50 in Norwich and the work we do everyday to support people in our community.
Up for grabs at the auction were signed Norwich FC shirts and golfing trips, as well as some amazingly generous raffle prizes from local companies like the Maids Head Hotel and The White Horse Overstrand.
Our corporate partners on the day had this to say of the event:
"A really enjoyable day. Thanks to everyone involved in organising and all the participants."
"Fantastic day!"
"Great day. Great weather. Great company. Thank you."
"What a great day!"
"Thank you for having us, brilliant day!"
Thanks to the generosity of all involved, we were able to raise a massive: £6,858
We are always looking for companies to partner with, and opportunities to create events like this in aid of Age UK Norwich. The events offer a chance for us and those attending to showcase the good work of all businesses involved. More events like our golf day are planned for later in the year and we hope to continue to see even more of you there!
