Age UK Norwich has been selected as Norwich City Football Clubs (NCFC) nominated matchday charity on Tuesday 26 November for City’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Plymouth Argyle.

NCFC’s initiative is designed to raise awareness of the work done in local communities and to raise money for each charity through matchday activation.

This exciting opportunity will allow Age UK Norwich to raise awareness of the vital work we do in the local community and generate much-needed funds. Through matchday activations, we will be able to connect with a wider audience and highlight the challenges faced by people in later life in Norwich.

A spokesperson from Age UK Norwich shared “We are incredibly grateful to Norwich City for selecting us as their matchday charity. Every penny we raise with the football club will help us to continue providing essential support and companionship to those who need it most. Thank you for your support."

As part of the match, Age UK Norwich has chosen a community hero to receive complimentary tickets to the match and be invited to the pitch at half time.

We're thrilled to nominate Jo Hoy from Maids Head Hotel for her dedication to Age UK Norwich in her numerous contributions, including making us Maids Head Hotel’s Charity of the Year, actively participating in, and encouraging staff to participate in our fundraising events, and generously providing free space for us to host clubs, events, and meetings. Her donations of gifts for our auctions and raffles have further boosted our fundraising efforts.

One highlight of being their Charity of the Year has been our popular 'Walk, Talk, Tea' event hosted by the hotel. These events have provided a wonderful opportunity for people over 50 in our community to socialise, exercise, and enjoy delicious refreshments in a beautiful and welcoming setting.

Through Jo’s invaluable dedication, the Maids Head Hotel has in total donated over £3,000 this year to directly support our services for people in later life in Norwich. Jo's commitment to our community truly embodies the spirit of giving back, and we are incredibly grateful for her unwavering support

Age UK Norwich invites supporters to get involved and show support for this worthy cause. If you are at the match, come and say hello to our friendly staff located outside the south stand.
