Shaping an Age Friendly City….the story so far

In April, we hosted the Shaping an Age Friendly City event at Carrow Road, which is our charity mission. Over 80 people attended and we’ve received some encouraging feedback from participants showing a huge desire to make this a priority for the city. As we move forward, we can build upon experience from successful places elsewhere in the country, as well as information from residents about their current and future needs. We’ve captured feedback so far in the attached report, which shows some of the priorities we can initially focus on and factors we will need to consider.
The Board of Trustees and leadership at Age UK Norwich are absolutely committed to supporting this initiative and recognises the achievement of being accredited as a Age Friendly City as an opportunity to benefit all parts of the community, business, as well as those in later life. We cannot do this alone - partnerships and commitment from leaders in all sectors, local experts and community advocates in Norwich and its suburbs will lead to success for the city by tackling some of its social issues.
You can read the feedback we’ve captured so far in our report, which we encourage you to share so we can capture feedback and reach as many community leaders and advocates as we can. If you would like to be directly involved with the next steps - please email dan.skipper@ageuknorwich.org.uk
