Leathes Prior Solicitors support Telephone Befriending Service

We are thrilled to share that Leathes Prior Solicitors are kindly supporting our Telephone Befriending Service, reducing our waiting list and helping more people aged 50+ to feel connected.

A group of their team are volunteering and will engage in regular friendly conversation with our clients who are feeling lonely and socially isolated. 

Our Befriending Coordinator has been delivering training sessions, such as an 'active listening skills' workshop, to ensure that the volunteers feel confident in sparking meaningful conversations. 

Dan Chapman commented: “At Leathes Prior, we strive to continue to support our local community as part of our ongoing ‘LPLovesLocal’ campaign, so we are thrilled to be partnering with Age UK Norwich in relation to their quite wonderful telephone befriending service.  This partnership will give our staff the opportunity to create relationships with the older residents of our city to try and help tackle the huge problem of loneliness. We look forward to working together and would love anyone else considering getting involved to do so, as it is such a fantastic service being offered but with an overwhelming demand.  We only hope that we can at least assist a little with meeting some of that demand.”
