EBSS Alternative Funding

Do you live in a Park Home, Care Home or any other home where you did not automatically receive the funding from the Government Energy Bill Support Scheme (EBSS)? You may be eligible to apply through the Government Alternative Funding Scheme. There is currently a deadline of 31st May 2023 for applications.
Most households will have received their £400 EBSS funding automatically through 6 automatic monthly payments or prepayment meter vouchers of £66 or £67 from your energy supplier, however there is alternative funding available to some who have not already received it. This is through the Government EBSS Alternative Funding Scheme.
This scheme allows eligible households that do not have a domestic electricity meter and contract with an electricity supplier, and so have not received monthly EBSS payments, such as some residents of park homes and care homes, and those on a heat network, to apply for the £400 EBSS payment.
You can check your eligibility and apply online via this Government Website link Apply for energy bill support if you do not get it automatically - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Once you have applied, your Local Council will check you live at the address you have applied for.
A separate application portal is also available to allow eligible households that use alternative fuels, like heating oil, to apply for the £200 Alternative Fuel payment if this has not been paid to them automatically. This scheme is also provided through the Government EBSS.
For households that cannot apply for the payment online, or who need help with the application process, there has been a Government helpline set up to assist them. Telephone: 0808 175 3287 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm).
Please note that there is currently a deadline set of 31st May 2023 for these applications.
