Age UK Norwich has been mentioned in the CMO's Annual Report entitled 'Health in an Ageing Society'. Not once, but twice!
Both our Community Support Service and Health Coaching were included as part of the county profile.
We are so proud of the staff team. They have worked really hard to develop and evolve these services with clients, along with our city and county partners in health and care.
We must also acknowledge our partners in Age Healthy Norwich, namely Norwich Theatre, Norwich Door to Door and Steven Hitcham and his team at EPIC Norfolk who have been a key part of it's success. Missed in dispatches of the report, but a fully recognised as valued partners.
The full report, which you can read below, showcases a variety of VCFSE from across the country, including other Age UKs. The report shows that we have services and support in Norwich and Norfolk that are shifting the dial towards prevention and care closer to home in the community. We now need strategic investment to maximise and grow these, to make Norfolk & Waveney a great place to age. Would it be too courageous to make Norfolk & Waveney a bluezone?

Manchester, Birmingham and London will age very slowly but areas such as Scarborough, North Norfolk or the south coast are going to age rapidly and predictably"....
