At nearly 90, there is no stopping Audrey and thanks to Age UK Norwich, she shows no signs of slowing down. Following an accident, active Audrey found herself in a wheelchair, looking to rebuild her confidence and looking at ways to continue to keep involved in her local community.

Audrey is an active member of our Clubs & Trips, taking part in classes up and down Norwich keeping active, spending time with others, making new friends and seeing old ones.

"There's such a wonderful variety, to choose from, I mean, take your pick, whatever your tastes are there's something new"

Following Audrey's accident, she found support from Age UK Norwich to complete her Blue Badge application. A Blue Badge can be a real life line for people over 50 experiencing mobility issues, offering them the opportunity to remain active and engaged in their community events and opportunities. As well as this, Audrey was supported with her Attendance Allowance application, which gives her important access to funds to do the things that matter to her, ensuring she has opportunities to leave the house and be supported to access events safely.

"I absolutely love my sit fit classes, without them I would be so inflexible, stuck in an armchair"

Reminding us all that excersies is vital to keeping going, keeping active and keeping fit and healthy both physically and mentally. Age UK Norwich have also pushed her to do things outside her comfort zone, trying new things and developing new skills at sessions like Arty Party even at 89! Reflecting on how easy it is to become isolated and lonely in Later Life and the vital need for services like Age UK Norwich to support people to get out there and remain connected.

And the key to living well for longer? Well to Audrey it's simple, keep active and kepp hydrated!

"You don't have to drink gallons of water, just keep sipping, leave water everywhere and drink! Cheers!"
