Shops
Charity shops are an important provider of mixed goods across our country, and we offer the same service through our shops, which are located around Scarborough and Filey. Many can struggle to afford brand-new clothes or toys, and for price-conscious or bargain-hunting shoppers, charity shops like ours are a lifeline for low-cost goods. All ages are welcome, and our goods are not only for the over 50s. We sell clothes, books, and toys in abundance, alongside furniture, electrical items, bric-a-brac, and more. Our volunteer-led shops are open during typical retail hours, though please remember that opening times may change with the seasons, bank holidays, market days, or national events.
These shops belong to Age UK North Yorkshire Coast & Moors, rather than the national branch of Age UK; this means that all retail proceeds are used to support the people in our area, instead of national large-scale projects. Furthermore, we also hold regular activities at some of our shops, or use them as a meeting point; to find out more, please visit our "Activities and Events" page. Our shops rely upon the donation of unwanted goods. Most of these are donated in-person, through simple drop-offs at our shops; simply enter any of our shops, explain that you are making a donation, and then deliver into our hands whatever items you have brought with you. We can also collect items from your door, provided that arrangements are made more than 48 hours in advance. If you have questions about anything above, please contact any of our shops via the details below.
