Innocent's Big Knit 2024

Published on 17 July 2024 07:23 AM

Since 2003, Age UK and Innocent have been working together to raise money for older people. The campaign is back for 2024, and our knitters have been as busy as ever.

This year, our dedicated knitters in North Tyneside have knitted a whopping 4,807 hats. These little hats make a big difference, with Innocent donating 25p per hat. This means our knitters have helped raise an incredible £1,201.74. This money will go back to funding vital services for older people in North Tyneside.

Our services

Our range of core services are a lifeline for many older people in the area, so every penny raised is gratefully received. In the 2023/24 financial year, our Information & Advice service helped older people in North Tyneside access £1,900,388 in unclaimed benefits, lifting many of our customers out of poverty.

Our Admiral Nurse service provides comprehensive dementia support to help assist people along every step of their dementia journey. This service is essential for both people living with dementia and their family and carers.

Through our physical activities and social groups, our Health & Wellness service helps improve the mental and physical wellbeing of older people in the borough.

These are just some of the services that will be supported by the money raised through Innocent's Big Knit campaign.
