National Story Telling week
Published on 25 January 2019 03:45 PM
To celebrate National Story Telling week which takes place 28th January - 4th February 2019 we would like to tell you all about the most wonderful story of all……your Life.
Life Story work is an activity in which the person with dementia is supported by family members or staff close to them to gather and review their past life events and build a personal biography. It is used to help the person understand their past experiences and how they have coped with events in their life, which can help to improve quality of life when they can no longer tell us this information.
If you or your loved one would like more information, templates of life story work or to read Thompson, R (2011) research finding in full, please visit https://www.dementiauk.org/for-professionals/free-resources/life-story-work/
