Sailing into Retirement

The 72ft yacht ‘James Cook’ set sail from North Shields Marina on Saturday 23rd June as part of the Royal Yacht Association's Active Marina Programme 2018. Most of the crew were retired – all ladies.

They were supported by a volunteer crew from the Marine youth Trust under Captain Caroline’s skippering. A fantastic day was had by all  despite the lack of  North Sea wind, but the crew of 12 plus volunteers and staff made the very most of it 9-5pm
