As the world around us moves more and more online, we offer patient help and support to build your confidence to use technology as you choose.
Whether you need help with a phone, computer or tablet, Age UK North Craven and our team of volunteers can support you to develop your skills and be involved, safely, with the online world in which we all now live.
Making the Most of the Internet
Technology is a tool and if or how you use it depends on what is important for you. It might be that you want to stay connected to family and friends over WhatsApp, learn how to use Zoom to join a virtual group or class, take and share photographs, manage your health, shop online, communicate by email, or simply learn how to ‘swipe and tap’ … we are here for you.
We will patiently listen, go at your pace and help you work out a way forward with technology that is safe, enjoyable and right for you. If we can’t help you, we will do our best to signpost you to someone or something that can help.
We offer basic help via:
• Digital drop in
• Telephone
• One to one in person sessions, where other forms of support aren't possible
• Handy 'how to' guides that can be posted out to you
• Signposting to other sources of help and support
We do not help with:
• Specialised technical issues: we suggest that people contact their local computer repair shop or IT professional, for which there may be a charge. We do not recommend but can help you find local providers and it is your choice whether or not to use them.
• Online Banking/Financial Services: we suggest that people contact their own bank, all of whom now have customer care staff to support with this
