Community Fire Officer visits our Coffee and Chat

At this week’s Coffee & Chat we were delighted to welcome Howard Whitaker and Joseph Binns from North Yorkshire Fire Service.

Howard gave an informative talk on how to reduce and prevent fires, and the importance of working smoke alarms.

Both Howard and Joe are local firemen here in Settle and offer Safe & Well visits which include checking you have working smoke alarms and that you know how to test them, which several of our clients were keen to take up. After finishing with a question-and-answer session we thanked them for finding the time to come and talk to us and let them to return to work as they were both on duty and had already been called out twice before coming to us.
