About the role

We are recruiting caring, trustworthy people to drive our specially adapted minibuses to convey older people to and from their homes.  Our drivers enable vulnerable older people to enjoy attending our day centres and meet up with friends.  You will look after our clients when they are visiting the day centre, supporting and liaising with other staff and volunteers, maintaining high standards of care at all times.  Our drivers get to know the clients and care about respecting their dignity and promoting their independence.  You will also be required to meet all legal requirements relating to the vehicle operation.

About you

We need someone who enjoys meeting older people and will be dedicated to ensuring that their passengers feel safe and well cared for.  This part-time job can be very rewarding as you are making a positive difference to your community.  By treating our clients well you are making a huge difference to their day.  Older people look forward to being greeted by a friendly, familiar face and enjoy chatting to our drivers as well as other people on the minibus.  It is important that you can be patient and appreciate the need to treat older people, many of whom will have disabilities or hearing impairments, possibly dementia, with dignity and respect.  In return you will become part of our friendly team of drivers who look forward to coming to work and know that they are appreciated for their kindness.  D1 on your driving licence is required.
