You will assist clients by telephone or via a home visit, giving advice and guidance on a range of services, including but not limited to, care homes, rights to community care, being discharged from hospital, assistance at home and housing benefits.

You will ensure that the administrative tasks associated with the role, such as case recording, database entries, statistics, reports in Microsoft Word or Excel are completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.

About you

We are looking for someone who can work effectively as part of small team and who is committed to ongoing personal development relating to advice work.  You must have the ability to follow Information & Advice procedures and adhere to the Age UK National Information & Advice Quality Advice Standard (QAS).  You will need to be able to prioritise your own work and meet deadlines.  Excellent written and spoken communication skills are a must, as are strong IT skills (including Microsoft Office and using a database).  You must have a good understanding of the issues that affect older people and their carers and be highly motivated to provide an excellent service, either as part of the team or working independently.  You will have the confidence to liaise with external organisations on behalf of our clients.

If you would like to join our friendly team and help older people in Northamptonshire claim the welfare benefits they are entitled to, we'd love to hear from you.  For more information or an informal chat about this post please call Lorraine Booty on 01604 611200.
