Gardener
Location: in all areas of Northamptonshire, especially in Northampton and the south and west of the county
Rate of pay: £13.36 per hour
Hours of work: casual, as and when required
About the role
We need people to join our Gardening Service to work throughout the county, helping older people look after their gardens. You will be mowing lawns, cutting back shrubs and generally providing a garden maintenance service that takes the worry out of keeping a garden tidy for our clients. Our gardeners are reliable and trustworthy and generally work alone, using their own initiative to provide the kind of service that suits the client. We aim to help older people maintain a safe environment, supporting them so that they can retain their independence. The post will also support the Handyperson Service .
About you
You will need to have some gardening skills so that you can look after clients' plants appropriately. This is an outdoor job with the amount of work varying according to the seasons. If you enjoy working flexible hours and can manage your own time and complete tasks in an efficient manner, this post will suit you. We need people who can demonstrate respect for elderly and vulnerable clients and understand that some older people can be nervous and need reassurance when someone is working at their home. If you like staying active, making a positive difference and meeting people this can be a very rewarding job.
Own transport is essential. Most of our clients have their own gardening equipment so you might not need to provide your own. For more information or an informal chat about these posts please call Richard A'Court on 01604 611200.
