About the role

The main focus of this role is to manage the Domestic Care Service on a day-to-day basis, matching cleaners and clients in order to provide an efficient and responsive service to older people living in Northamptonshire.  You will use your excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to place Domestic Care Workers with clients after discussing the client's needs and expectations of the service.  You will also refer clients to other services and support provided by the charity to ensure that they are able to make the most of life.

You will train and induct new staff in the policies and procedures of Age UK Northamptonshire and the Domestic Care Service.  The Domestic Care Coordinator is responsible for managing all Domestic Care Workers and will assist them with any day-to-day enquiries or issues they may have, refering to the Registered Manager as necessary.

About you

We are looking for a teamplayer with excellent interpersonal skills and empathy for older people.  If you thrive on being busy and well organised, and could inspire a large team of workers to make a noticeable and positive difference to hundreds of people every week, this is the job for you.

You will be encouraged to use your own initiative and be flexible, whilst being able to tactfully manage situations where there may be concerns about the welfare of our clients.  Our Domestic Care Coordinator must be able to liaise with other health professionals as well as the families of our clients, supporting and resolving issues as necessary.  You must be confident in recruiting and supporting the Domestic Care staff and be IT literate and able to manage timesheets, update the database and produce monthly reports for the Finance Department.
