Day Care Assistant
Location: Leeson Court, Towcester
Rate of pay: £11.69 per hour
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day
About the role
This is a highly rewarding post where you will get to know your clients and see the positive difference you are making to their lives. You will enable people to meet new friends and socialise as well as join in with enjoyable activities that they may not be motivated to do when on their own.
You will support the clients using our day care services, working with the senior manager to develop individual support plans tailored to meet the needs of our clients. The day care services aim to enhance the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of each client.
Our Day Care Assistants support and liaise with other professionals and work with our staff and volunteers to maintain high standards of care that protect the welfare of older people attending our day centres. By treating our clients as individuals and encouraging them to try new activities, we enable them to enjoy a good quality of life.
About you
We are looking for people with the ability to work alone but also as part of a team. You must have empathy for older people and an understanding of the behaviour of others, and also the contributory factors behind that behaviour. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to record accurately, both verbally and in writing, are essential, as are good levels of physical fitness in order to comply with manual handling instructions and to provide personal care to clients.
Working at a day centre is highly rewarding and we want our staff to enjoy their job. Experience of care work is not essential but you must be willing to undertake training within the job role to enhance your knowledge and skills. If you are flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work on your own initiative, we'd love to hear from you.
