Gardening Volunteer
Aims and goals
The Gardening Service enables older people to carry on living independently in their own home. As a Volunteer Gardener you play an important role in ensuring that older people are able to stay at home for longer and get enjoyment from their garden again.
We are sure that you will enjoy volunteering with us, and that you will always feel supported and safe.
All we ask is that you are:
- age 18 or over
- able to commit on a regular basis
- honest, reliable and friendly
- able to listen to your clients and help them look after their garden
- a practical, hands-on person who can trusted to not put themselves or the clients at risk
Role description
This role description no way implies or states that a contract of employment is or will be offered. This is a voluntary unpaid role and is subject to Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
Tasks you may be asked to perform
- Mowing lawns
- Trimming hedges and shrubs
- Weeding paths, driveways and borders
- Potting up plants and tidying edges
- Refilling bird feeders and restocking bedding plants
- Revarnishing or painting garden furniture, fences and sheds
Please remember that we make a charge for the Gardening Service. We do not do landscaping or cut down trees. You are not required to take away garden waste.
